Nu Kuro (from the Yoruba, núkúrò — to remove impurity, to cleanse) is a spiritual and ethical certification standard rooted in ancestral law. Governed by the elder council Iledi Gilasi, Nu Kuro ensures that every animal is processed with reverence, balance, and intention—from life, to death, to delivery.

In alignment with ancestral understanding, Nu Kuro requires that women rest during their menstrual cycles.

👥 Who Governs It?

Iledi Gilasi (a division of Makanjuola Holdings, LLC) is the sacred governing body behind Nu Kuro—composed of elders, spiritual leaders, and ethical food practitioners. They oversee certification, train certifiers, and ensure each offering is in alignment with ancestral standards and divine law.

They do not answer to markets. They answer to memory.
